The Soraya at CSUN will dial up a month long festival of American’s original true art form with its first annual, month-long jazz festival, Jazz at Naz. The festival will feature five events including two major main stage performances plus three consecutive nights of the Soraya’s immersive Jazz Club, with audience and artists all hosted right on stage for a one of a kind intimate and immersive experience that has become a Soraya trademark.


Saturday Feb. 5: About Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis

Angelinos won’t have to travel to NYC to experience the incomparable Wynton Marsalis and the world renowned Lincoln Center Orchestra performing on the Soraya’s main stage to open the Jazz at Naz festival.


Thursday Feb10: About an Evening with Gregory Porter

Two time GRAMMY award winner, Gregory Porter’s rich baritone and infectious onstage presence will hold court on Soraya’s main stage.


Thursday Feb17: About Jazz at Naz’s Jazz Club, Gerald Clayton

Audiences will share the Soraya stage with this exciting and dynamic pianist at the wonderfully intimate Jazz Club. Born into the music scene, Gerald Clayton, son of famed classical double bassist, arranger and composer, John Clayton Jr. and nephew to saxophonist Jeff Clayton is one of the young guns making waves in the jazz scene.


Friday Feb 18: About Jazz at Naz’s Jazz Club, Gretchen Parlato

Jazzwise magazine writes of Parlato, “one of the most dreamily mellifluous timbres in jazz”. The rising star vocalist will perform from her Brazilian-flavored album, Flor.


Saturday Feb 19 About Jazz at Naz’s Jazz Club, Harold Lopez-Nussa

Havana born and raised, Cuban pianist Harold Lopez-Nusssa drew raves when he opened for Juan de Marco’s Afro-Cuban All Stars at The Soraya in 2018, and now he returns to headline with his own quartet which he calls “the greatest musicians of my generation in Cuba.”
