Dance Camera West will present the 21st edition of its internationally renowned dance film festival at the Historic Barnsdall Art Park in Hollywood on Thrusday, January 19 throuogh Saturday, January 21, 2023. Featuring 60+ films the festival will include both indoor and outdoor screenings, artist talks, special events such as a workshop with award-winning artist Gabri Christa, a filmmaker luncheon followed by a tour of Frank Loyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, and outdoor sunset screenings surrounded by views of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.
The festival’s opening night on Thursday the 19th will feature the Los Angeles premiere of Bella by Bridget Murnane, celebrating L.A. dance icon Bella Lewitzky. The closing night includes Dance Camera West’s signature VISIBILITY program to support underrepresented artists, plus the premiere of Sheila, and other films by special guest artist Gabri Christa. Also included in the festival’s offerings is a separately ticketed event on Friday, January 20 from 12:00 to 2:00pm that includes a filmmaker lunch and discussion at Cara followed by a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House.
